Just cause I felt like it, I did a 720p version of the last two OVAs, though I hate to admit I used a pre-existing raw for this, it’s good enough imo, big shout-out to SOFCJ for that. I updated the script just a tad relative to the DVD release. Joint with.forA couple of things to note: This version was slightly re-cut to be one long TV special, so a few things were cut out, namely the intro was shortened a bit, the OP and ED run once, an eyecatch, and the preview for Part II. So it made for a bit of a pain in the butt to shift the timings.md5: 21b9d94efcdd4240f719b473c7fc466eMD5: 21b9d94efcdd4240f719b473c7fc466e.

It’s been a long road in completing these last two OVAs (to the point that even the official subs came out before us), but we were not gonna let all this effort go to waste. So at long last, it’s finished. Big special thanks to the original translator and translation checker involved (ya’ll know who you are) in the first couple of, a certain Strayan who translated OVA 5 and tenkenX6 for TL checking these last two OVAs. FD for editing the songs and doing METICULOUS QC of my editing, I am not worthy (orz).
Big shout-outs to konnakude, sangofe, and Juggen for qcing as well, and to Treize and HeavenlyArmed for passing along their karaoke from Lag-Taka (RIP). Who’s hyped for season 2 in the spring (to watch ofc)?OVA 4 MD5: 0fe13de6bdf1652abc5b9b241745818bOVA 5 MD5: cece94241a13bd2161abd5f23822514eMD5: check above. Hello Titanheads, we finally finished up the third OAD of Attack on Titan (I may have stalled it somewhat.) so here it is for your viewing pleasure. This OAD takes place not long after the last culinary extravaganza but this one’s a little more serious, focussing around a seemingly routine expedition for the cadets that goes awry and reminds them that the Titans aren’t the only dangers in their world. As with the last OAD, this is a combined effort with so make sure you go thank them and watch some of their other series too. We also have the Kuinaki/No Regrets OADs in the works so look forward to them being released at some point – I’ll try not to stall those for six months like I did this one.
And the reunion tour continues! We said we’d do it, and here it is!
We’ve combined forces with this time to bring you the titanic second OAD of Attack on Titan. This one’s not quite as serious as the last one, but I think you’ll agree, it’s still pretty intense ?For any of you who keep track of this stuff, this actually takes place slightly before the last OAD, slotting neatly between the fall of Shiganshina and the Battle of Trost, and it focusses almost exclusively on Jean’s backstory, with some fun moments starring Sasha thrown in for good measure. And to repeat the technical note from the previous OAD, the terminology for this episode is a hodge-podge of stuff we took from our doomed first episode of the series with Crunchyroll terms filling in the gaps.So sit back, relax and enjoy Commander Pixis and his infinite canteens!P.S. Thanks to our man with the plan in Japan, Skr, for going out and buying the DVD for us so we could rip it!
Humans are nearly exterminated by giant creatures called Titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of titans. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a titan in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a colossal titan that appears out of thin air. As the smaller titans flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive.
Eren vows that he will murder every single titan and take revenge for all of mankind. This is fantastic on many levels, the story, art, and atmosphere. The basic premise of mindless giants that eat people sounds ho hum on paper but watching it gives a much different feeling. As an audience we don't know a whole lot more than the characters so the emotional impact of twists and turns mirrors the character development. And believe me, there are twists and turns you probably won't expect.
No one is safe in this world and it is a brutal world. The requisite young pair of kids is there as the focal point for the series and there are other typical anime trappings I've noticed, based on my limited exposure to the genre, but you will immediately forget about those if they bother you because the story is so darn riveting. Bloody without being gratuitous in the gore department, the horror comes from unpredictability and the feeling we are seeing what it is like to be ants in a human world. Highly recommended for adults. Don't dare expose this to sensitive children, it will absolutely freak them out in a bad way. As far as I can tell this series also is staying very close to the Manga.
This is one of those series that people don't mind paying a streaming subscription just to get. However, you can watch for free if you get Crunchy Roll.
